We are only in Honduras for two days, mainly to see the last of the Mayan ruins. The town plaza is on the flat ground and the roads go steeply up from there.

Tuk-tuks rev their way up the hills and saunter back down. We trudged up, and walked slowly, slowly down!

There are lots of Macaws here. They are beautifully coloured birds in red, yellow and blue. In the plaza there is a man-made nest for them to mate in.

It’s hot again, but our hotel has a very nice small pool to laze in. We never really considered Honduras as a destination before, it didn’t have a good reputation, but it’s moving ahead and the current leader is making a big effort to end the corruption and gangs which have existed in the past.

Those birds! Wow. Not sure about the hills. I think I’d be getting the tuk-tuk!

It was for me! Especially the night it rained and the cobblestones were really slippery!

Tuk tuk sounds good, but I can understand walking as you see heaps more. Looks super interesting. pool when you return from walking – a cool off?
