A few days ago, we did a tour of the area with Ramon. He supplied us with a great commentary, fresh fruit, cocktails and music. It was a full day of new experiences and very budget friendly!

Our first stop was a craft market in a town called Masuya. There are so many stalls selling the same thing, it starts getting a bit monotonous and overwhelming. But I still enjoy having a browse.

After that we drove to a crater lake resort and spent a few hours swimming around, while little fish nibbled at our legs! There was kayaking and paddle-boarding too, but we were happy just to swim. There are so many volcanoes in Central America. It’s part of the Pacific Rim of Fire.

We thought that was it, but then we drove back to Granada and took a boat ride around some of the 365 islands in Lake Nicaragua. Talk about lifestyles of the rich and famous. Many of the islands have large houses on them and are owned by various rich families.

It was a beautiful way to end the day, drinking rum punch and singing “Sweet Caroline”!
can just picture you Chris belting out Sweet Caroline after a few rum cocktails. When you said Grenada I thought Spain but just checked Central America in my atlas. Not far out of Managua! Ramon sounds like good value. Lake Nicaragua looks huge on my map! 😜👍

It is a massive lake…and there’s lots of activity around the shore. It was a great way to end a big day out.
