Yesterday we rode the old railway line through the mountains and forest, high above the river in a very small train. It was a great little journey. Sadly many photos were deleted due to bad camera settings, but the journey was a lot of fun and reminded us of previous trips through Sri Lanka and India.

It’s still very warm, although it’s Autumn ( around 32 degrees) so the forests are still very green and there’s little evidence of trees changing colour.

There are lots of references to Thomas the Tank Engine, and a few engines even carry the facade.

There was also a museum ( 100¥ entry) which had lots of interesting posters. Great place to escape the heat!

We also visited the lookout, which was spectacular and gave us a great view of where we had travelled on the train.

spectacular lookout views!
did you see the Fat Controller there too with Thomas or should I say Sir Topham Hatt in this day and age🤔🤣

No sign of any other Thomas characters… and the views were amazing. The little train chugged through the mountain, the moss covered rocks and forest floor were very green (the photos were blurry so no proof!)

Wow! That bridge looks a bit scary – but wonderful views. Just gorgeous

Some of the bridges look very fragile, while others have tonnes of cement holding them up, very high above the ground.

The forest and rivers are so beautiful. Love the Thomas train! Japanese are so obsessed with all things “Kawaii”! How’s your Japanese going?
