It’s still very hot, even though Autumn has begun, so we were keen to keep o the shady parts as we wandered around Kyoto Town. First stop was a huge temple, undergoing renovation so we couldn’t actually see much, but just across the road was an excellent Flea Market, selling all sorts of old things. If I had a bigger bag, I could have gone a bit crazy with the blue pottery.

The Government Handicraft Market was close by, lovely air conditioning and three floors of crafts!

A taxi got us to Nishiki Markets, it was too hot to walk. A beer stop and then in search of the second hand shops. A bit too upmarket! I won’t complain about the Salvos prices ever again!

We also checked out Don Quijote, a huge reject type shop. It was full of Knick knacks, make-up and electronics…not exactly what I was hoping for!

Last stop was a temple with a dry garden ( not called a rock garden) it was very elegant, but I don’t think I’ll start one!

Oh, wow! All that blue china! You must have been in heaven
