We caught a couple of trains and a monorail out to the old Expo 70 site. (We didn’t realise that’s where we were heading until we got there!) our goal was the Folkarts Museum(quite small) and the National Museum of Ethnology, which I think it’s one of the best museums I’ve ever been to!

It was like travelling all around the world again. Seeing displays from Asia, Oceania, Africa, The Americas and Europe. The quality of the displays was top notch and looked very natural and authentic. I could have spent more hours there. We had only allowed ourselves a couple, as we were going out that evening. But I’d recommend you allow yourself at least half a day to explore the museum and beautiful Japanese gardens nearby.

We caught the wrong train home…made a mistake with the timing and found ourselves rushing to get back to the hotel. So we tried to leave at another station to catch a cab. We used our tickets, which would not let us through the barrier. An attendant insisted we go to information, where we explained our dilemma and they gave us a refund!
Catching a cab to The Sumo Show, our driver had no idea where to go, we couldn’t understand why, until we realised it was a show, not the real deal and in a shopping centre! Well it was fun anyway, even though it felt like we were watching something in Las Vegas!

So here we are, sitting at Osaka Airport, waiting for a plane to Tokyo and then a flight back to Sydney. It’s been an action packed three weeks. So glad Maryanne and Steve were with us, it’s made the trip a lot of fun. Til next time…Sayonara!
