The Temple of Karnak was another art history memory and it didn’t disappoint. Trying to get the perspective of over one hundred huge columns was not easy. Especially with the crowds of selfie takers who kept “hogging” the best viewpoints! But we managed.

I just keep thinking how amazing it is that we are here! Names of Egyptian kings that we have heard over the years via TV and old movies are mentioned by our guide Samar, and I only recall bits and pieces about them. There were so many!

The hieroglyphics are fantastic and images that we recognise are there in real life. I am in awe.

Truly awe inspiring to think what was achieved in ancient times, a thousand times more inspiring than today’s so called technological advancements.

Yes! To think they did all this without machinery. The workers were not slaves as I was led to believe from the movies!

Yes! It was far too hot to walk very far. Most of the tourists just stood at the start. Not all the faces are the same!
