Our final stop in Luxor was the famous burial grounds of many of the kings. We entered three chambers and of course they involved stairs or ramps leading down to the underground tombs.

The relief sculptures on the walls were in such good condition. Protected from the outside elements for centuries. It is a hot isolated place, along a winding road out from Luxor. Riding a chariot out there would have been a chore!

Only workers and members of the royal families were allowed in this restricted area, so the graves were well protected from Tomb Raiders.

Once again it was challenging to get some good shots, so many people shuffling along to view the murals and sarcophagus in each chamber, but it did not detract from the experience of being there!

We also stopped at an alabaster factory, the salesman was very persuasive, but I didn’t succumb to him trying to sell us items worth over $2000!

Well done for your self control at the alabaster factory!
