Yesterday we set off in different directions to do a bit of shopping. The crowds and hot weather are both increasing, it’s becoming uncomfortable to stay out in the middle of the day. I wandered around for about three hours, didn’t buy much, just a few beads and trinkets. I thought about new sandals but the price and quality were similar to at home, and not all are hand-made in Greece!

Later in the day I did Google yarn stores and found a few in walking distance, but again the prices were just as high as Australia, so I didn’t feel the need to add weight to my bag just yet! ( A lot of the yarn comes from Turkey, I’ve already planned my walking circuit in Istanbul!)

We’ve had some very tasty dinners in Greece, and it took quite a while but I finally had octopus. It was ok, but one of my favourites was the veggie plate we had last night. (We have had enough souvlaki, skewers, lamb chops and assorted meats to last us a while).

The food looks wonderful. Goodbye Athens. All good things must come to an end!

That veggie plate looks delicious. What were the balls? Falafel? Was that a recorder I could see in one of those shops? I’m sure you were tempted to but it! Lol.

Yes, we’ve just got 24 hours in Istanbul. Back home Wednesday night after a quick visit with Sash.
