We stayed here when we visited Tangier. It was like going back in time. I half expected Poirot to come walking down the stairs (no elevator).
The hotel is full of old things from decades ago…an old sewing machine, a telephone switchboard, water containers, vases, an ancient coffee machine, a saddle…all sorts.
There were lots of beautiful plaster decorations painted intricately. Tiles covered many surfaces too. The staircase was the old marble kind.
The hotel sits above a curve of the main road, overlooking the waterways and the comings and goings below. There is a terrace, where a huge group from the cruise ship came to have afternoon tea. It really was splendid!
Beautiful! My kind of hotel!!

The tile work is so ornate… what an incredible place…. great to see old treasures being valued.
