It’s very hot here! No wonder Siestas are popular in Mexico!
Today Lionel and I walked to El Zocalo, we tried to stay in the shade, but even crossing the road was hot work.
Along the way we passed some great murals, it’s so colourful here. I love it.
We wandered through the palace and listened to the bells ringing out midday. The huge flag gave a bit of shade, but of course it kept moving!
By lunchtime there were hundreds of people about all enjoying their Sunday. We headed back to our hotel as the heat was too much. We needed to rest before heading out with the group later on a “taco crawl”.
It was still very hot when we headed out around 4pm and it didn’t take long before I was feeling quite faint. Next thing I knew I was on the ground! Evidently I wasn’t looking too crash hot, so they called an ambulance after I tried to get up and fainted a second time! Well the paramedic arrived about half an hour after on a motorbike. Checked my pulse and blood pressure and declared it was normal, so suspected heatstroke. And no cost! Just a bit of paperwork. Makes sense in a city where traffic jams are never ending. So no taco crawl for us, back to the hotel to cool down. I did get a picture of the ambulance man though.
not the excitement you were hoping for in Mexico! take care

I’m feeling fine now, just overdid it. We’ve fuelled up on fruit and vege today, which isn’t all that easy to come by…fine if you know the Spanish words…I’m working on it!

Oh no! Hope someone is looking after you the way you look after them! PS the day I fainted was the hottest day in Mexico City since 1998, so that made me feel better too!
