We’ve been so busy looking at sites that the blog has had to play second fiddle! Every day is full of new experiences and it’s ticking a lot of boxes. After Tokyo, we drove towards Yokohama via Kamakura. We stopped at the Giant Buddha which is an iconic Japanese site.

After that we passed Kamakura Beach front, where the workers were dismantling various cafes as it is the end of the Summer season. On to Enoshima Island, where we climbed between 300 and 400 stairs to a lookout which gave spectacular views of the surrounding area.

The next day we drove to Mount Fuji. Station number 5. You could see the mountain in the distance as we drove towards it. Actually the better view in my opinion. Station five is a starting point for those trekking to the top. It costs 3000¥…it use to be free, but because there were so many people they decided to limit the numbers. The many trekkers were decked out in their hiking gear and ready to make the ascent. We just took a few pics and had lunch. Later visiting the centre, watching a short film about Fuji and viewing the exhibits. That was enough for us.

Thanks for sharing – another amazing journey for us to follow. Looks amazing

Yes! Mt Fuji is so much better when seen from afar. You can really appreciate how high it is. Also different with no snow.
Love the Buddha at Kamakura!

Did you stop at the beach? There were a few people in the water, but looked like most things were closing for the season.

No, we were intending to go last time but it was so hot, we went to the Art Gallery instead!
