On the wall at last!

Beijing, China

Yesterday we drove three hours to reach Jinshanling, which is considered part of the “wild wall”. It was worth the ride…there were only small groups of tourists and we felt like we had whole sections to ourselves. It stretches off in both directions and one side is Mongolia, the other China. What an architectural feat! The wall is in it’s natural state here…parts are being restored, but lots of rubble and uneven ground…but I didn’t trip! Yay! It was splendid and breathtaking…some of the steps were hard work, but slowly slowly we walked from tower to tower…and really only went a very short distance. It was fantastic!
