Up early this morning to drive to the panda conservation research centre. We needed to be early otherwise they would just be laying around all day sleeping! You should see them munch into the bamboo! They just work their way through the pile of shoots, sitting back, relaxing and having a good old chew. We visited the nursery and saw the babies in the humidicrib and the cot…various sizes and so cute. Also saw a mother and baby having a play…well mum was actually biting, pushing, shoving and squashing her offspring and finally grabbed it with her mouth and dragged it along…baby seemed content to be treated roughly… Lastly we saw the small red pandas which were having a much more interesting feed of fruit and were hanging in the trees. A great morning out…came back to Chengdu and then walked along the river into the city square…23,000 steps today!
