Antalya…Turkish Riviera?

Antalya, Turkey

After leaving Egirdir (where travellers are few and far between), we arrived in Antalya, a large modern city on the Mediterranean. We are staying in the old town, where there are once again cobbled streets and not much traffic…but it is definitely a tourist town and a bit too upmarket for us! However, today we walked to the museum and it was fabulous…displays from the second century…statues of Zeus, Hercules, Apollo, Athena…all my favourites from mythology. May 8: Another bonus was the Antalya Yoruk Festivali that just happened to start today…I just love tribal events! Ended the day with dinner by the sea as a celebration of our 33rd wedding anniversary…time flies when you are having fun!
