Kas, Turkey
Kas (pronounced Cash) is a smallish seaside town…weather fine, water cool! Yesterday we spent the day on a boat, cruising around the coastline…stopping at sheltered coves for swimming throughout the day. A great mix of about twenty people – German, Swiss, Australian, Turkish and Russian. We passed over the remains of a sunken city and climbed to the ramparts of a strategically located old castle. A great day out and lunch was fantastic as well. Today we walked to one of the few beaches in the area…most hotels have their own platforms…jutting out into the very clear sea…so turquoise and blue. A sea turtle was swimming close by…laying on the pebbly beach is an experience…I’d almost call it “rock therapy”! Tonight fish BBQ on the rooftop terrace, and tomorrow off to Patara (which is rumoured to have sand…my feet are getting excited!).
