Sultanahmet, Istanbul (part 1)

Fatih, Turkey

Well, we finally arrived by ferry and walked almost two kilometres to our hotel, which is very close to the Blue Mosque. Istanbul is a feast for the eyes! Everywhere you turn, there are magnificent mosques but also old Ottoman style hotels, shops and public buildings. The streets are a labyrinth! We haven’t even been to the Grand Bazaar yet, but there are hundreds of small shops and stalls filling every possible nook and cranny. Today we visited the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia and caught a ferry along the Golden Horn. Tomorrow we are making our way through the Grand Bazaar…and meeting somewhere on the outside.
