Grand Baie, Mauritius

It took us a while to drive the 36km from Central Flacq to Grand Baie (Perybere). We drove the coastal route and stopped at various public beaches along the way. At times it felt like we were travelling in a giant loop, but remarkably we would find ourselves still heading in the right direction! You don’t need to do much here! We are staying in a studio overlooking the beach, the water is calm and turquoise, just beautiful. Mostly Europeans, particularly French are staying here and soaking up the sun…towels on lounges…”bagged” for the day! We caught a rickety old bus into the capital, St Louis today…and caught it back just in time for the afternoon school rush. That was fun!
