Lagos is in the Algarve region, south of Lisbon on the Atlantic Coast. It is a delightful town, obviously popular with tourists, and a great place to wander around.
We were planning to take a boat trip to check out caves and grottoes. But when we woke up this morning it was overcast and a bit drizzly, so we decided to walk around the coast instead. It reminded us of Australia, particularly The Twelve Apostles in Victoria. It was stunning and the selfie takers were out in force trying to capture the perfect shot!
It was our 37th wedding anniversary yesterday, but we kept the celebration for today…a bottle of Mateus Rose (remember how sophisticated we were drinking this back in the seventies?) and later a fabulous meat and fish dinner at a small local restaurant. We were staying on top of the hill, and I certainly didn’t want to walk into town and back up the hill!
Before dinner (but after the wine) we walked out to the headland and checked out the coastline…Lionel kept a firm hold as I went close to the edge to get a better view!
Fabulous scenery and wish I was there to share that steak!!

Yes the coast was stunning and if the weather had been better we would have gone to Benagil Cave/beach. It looked amazing.
