Ayvalik – a few days of rest

Namık Kemal, Turkey

We have just spent a couple of days doing very little except swimming, eating, reading and drinking…oh and playing some rummy-o. The water temp is warm, the breeze is cool, the view from our third floor balcony of the Aegean Sea is delightful. Last night we ate marinated tuna and octopus, salad and the best eggplant/ aubergine dish we have tasted for a while. This part of the coast is what I imagine Greece would be like…the house behind us even reminds me of Greek backyards in Marrickville…no space wasted when you can grow your own fresh produce. I am definitely going to re-establish my geranium pots too…so colourful! Feeling very relaxed as we head into the last couple of weeks of our travels…still a few more sights to see and a bit of shopping to be done!
