Nairobi, Kenya
We caught a small plane from Malindi, knowing we would have a long wait at the airport for our flight to Kuala Lumpur (via Dubai)…but…we thought we would be in the departure lounge, relaxing and watching the world go by! But no! We arrived at about 2pm, expecting to be able to check our bags in at least. But no! One flight at a time, so bags don’t get lost! We were told 5:30pm, but fellow travellers were told 6:30pm! We actually don’t leave till almost 11pm. Aaahhh! There is absolutely no one at either side of the check-in counter at the moment…and probably won’t be for a couple more hours! No use getting annoyed! It’s just the way it is! We have had the most wonderful time in South and Eastern Africa. So many amazing sights, smells and sounds! The animals were amazing, the landscapes were very diverse, and most of all the fantastic Africans we met along the way…they were so welcoming, proud and easygoing! I have gained yet another incredible perspective of our human race…the bottom line for me is to treat everyone the way you want to be treated…be kind, be caring, be thoughtful…
