After we left school, we headed for the Ura Valley where there was supposed to be a Mushroom Festival with masked dancers and performances. I was really looking forward to this as Barb had some magical photos from previous events. Talk about photo envy!
Well we drove about halfway there and our driver stopped to phone a friend who told him all festivals and gatherings had been cancelled because of the upcoming elections. We were disappointed, but had already farewelled the staff so we were not turning around! We ended up visiting a lovely village called Shingkha, which was above Ura, as we planned to drive out the next day to Ura with two other teachers, Rilla and Andrea.
