House of the Rising Sun

Yesterday we walked along Canal St, down to the Mississippi River. There were people everywhere, wandering about and just hanging out. Lionel dipped his toe in, so that’s another great river ticked off! There were performers/buskers drawing large crowds, and as we neared the French Quarter the crowds grew thicker. We stopped at Jackson Square and headed down Bourbon St, looking for scenes from “Live and Let die” (007).

Bourbon St and the surrounding district have some fabulous old wrought iron work on the verandahs. We sat upstairs at a bar for a while and watched the passing parade, most entertaining!

After the excitement of Bourbon St, we headed for Louis Armstrong Park.

Our last stop was the cemetery…once again shades of James Bond…we didn’t actually go inside as it was very hot out in the street, just walking along concrete paths.
