This is the place where movies are made! If you need a desert town, this is where a number of my favourites have been filmed. What an amazing place! We had been on the bus for a number of hours and it was great to get off and wander through this village, which has been preserved, and supported (through funds) to maintain its original state.
We were invited in to have tea at a local lady’s home and the guide, Mohamed gave us an excellent explanation of everyday life. 
Ahh, I could just see Lawrence riding along the river bed shouting “Aqaba!” I will of course need to re-watch the movie to check the details!
