This city was chosen as a halfway point, along the journey…no other reason. But after the busy tourist streets of Santiago, it was a pleasure to stroll through the old town at a more relaxed pace!
The river was delightful. Lionel was very pleased to see some very large trout in the fast flowing parts.
My bag finally gave up, after many trips to many countries the wheels stuck and then wore away in the walk to the train station. Such a shame! But I now have a bigger, more spacious one, so if I do find any shoes etc there is plenty of room!
León has a magnificent cathedral and some beautiful old buildings. We stayed above a bar and it was raucous on Sunday afternoon. The streets are deserted around 3pm for a few hours. The shops close and reopen in the evening.
That poor ol’ bag🤪
