We had plenty of time to drive to Ullapool, so took the North Coast 500 scenic route. Fine for me, I was just the passenger, but Lionel had to stop again and again to allow cars to pass at the “passing place” along the single lane roads…and negotiate so many blind corners. It was however a very beautiful drive. One minute the sun would be shining, next drizzle, then pouring rain. Ah Scotland. This is what I imagined the highlands to be like. Misty, foggy, atmospheric and a tad cold!
