Ullapool to Erbusaig along NC 500

A drive that was supposed to take three hours, ended up being closer to six as we wended our way along the single lane coastal route. Lots of stopping and starting as we waited at the passing place for oncoming traffic. But it was spectacular! The old saying it doesn’t do it justice is so true in the highlands. “That looked fabulous” (I’d say) as we drove past, with cars close behind us and nowhere to pull over to take a pic.

We’re staying in a very small village near the Kyle of Lochalsh. It is very, very busy around town. Last night we couldn’t even get a table in a pub…there are staff shortages everywhere and bookings ARE essential, otherwise it’s crackers and cheese from the co-op!

  1. We drove in and out of the car park, it was bumper to bumper and there were no spaces. So we looked from afar, I’ll try for another few pics today on our way to Fort Augustus.
