Lochalsh to Connel

The highlands are magnificent. The drive to Fort Augustus was very scenic, and not so much rain! (Still not satisfied, pics can’t capture the grandeur.)

Another view of Eilean Donan

We stopped at Fort Augustus and spent an hour watching the locks being opened and closed to allow the yachts and boats to pass…a very slow process.

A quick look at Loch Ness and we decided we didn’t need to do a cruise!

Then on to Fort William where Lionel found a statue that reminded him of Grandpa Godman (that mask he frightens the kids with).

We were very pleased to find our accommodation in Connel, about five miles away from Oban (the gateway to the islands). Oban was very busy when we drove through.
