Yesterday we drove to San Pedro and visited the lake of the Aztec kings. From here we caught a boat in a much less touristy area to visit the ancient chinampas and farmlands. These are floating islands that have been built up using the mud and trees from the lake. It’s a world heritage site and considered part of the “lungs” of the city.

We arrived at our hotel in the historic centre of Puebla and our room is right next to the pool. Bonus. We waited til late afternoon to walk around and visited the Cathedral, 16th Century Library and an exhibition of weaving and embroidery. Bliss!

Weaving & embroidery exhibition would have been right up your alley!

Oh yes! I even found an exact original of a pattern I’d saved on Pinterest, that was a nice surprise.
